Shelby Fontaine LICSW
Shelby Fontaine is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who brings a warm, collaborative, and deeply encouraging energy to the therapeutic space. Specializing in children, adolescents, and young adults, Shelby is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and Rhode Island and offers flexible care through in-person and telehealth sessions. True to her social work roots, she knows that growth doesn't happen in a vacuum, which is why she is passionate about partnering closely with parents, caregivers, and support systems to create a true team approach to care. Whether helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, ADHD, or major life transitions, her goal is to walk alongside individuals and families as a supportive partner in their growth.
A core focus of Shelby's practice is her deep clinical dedication to neurodiversity-affirming care. She loves walking alongside neurodiverse individuals, including those on the autism spectrum, celebrating their unique strengths while helping them build practical, everyday tools to navigate a world that wasn't always built for them. In addition to individual therapy, Shelby specializes in creating and facilitating structured, curriculum-driven therapeutic groups. These sessions are designed to cultivate a vibrant sense of community, offering a safe, welcoming space where clients can connect with peers, practice new skills, and feel deeply understood.
Shelby’s therapeutic style is gentle, interactive, and authentic. She strives to build an affirming, judgment-free environment where clients feel entirely safe to show up exactly as they are, leaving each session feeling empowered, supported, and heard. Her professional foundation is built on a Master of Social Work from Simmons University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
